FICCI and BDA launched the joint report “3G and BWA: The Next Frontier”
followed by an interactive panel discussion organized by FICCI on “Demystifying 3G and BWA: Future Strategies & Projections” on 19th Jaunary 2009 – BDA was the knowledge partner for the event.

The panel discussion provided a platform to a very senior gathering of stakeholders in the Telecom sector, including senior government officials, policy makers, and chief executives of the leading operators and vendors to reflect upon the findings of the report and envision the future of 3G and BWA along with the imperatives required for enhancing their penetration.

The FICCI BDA Report provides an operationally focused, on-the-ground view of the future of 3G and BWA services in India, and is based on extensive industry inputs from carriers, handset OEMs, network OEMs and VAS providers. The report covers potential business models, network deployment plans, target segments and services & applications offered on 3G and BWA. In addition, the report provides 3G and broadband subscriber and revenue forecasts, device projections, device revenues and operational KPIs (ARPU, % Data ARPU, Device ASPs, Attach Rates etc.). The report also focuses on emerging device technologies such as netbooks, thin clients, etc. and their likely adoption with the introduction of 3G and BWA services. Finally, the report summarizes the imperatives for industry participants as well as policy making bodies for increasing penetration in urban and rural markets of India.
