FICCI has been organising environment focused business delegations to other countries in the past few years.

The objective of FICCI's environment delegations abroad has been three fold:

• To promote Indian environment companies in the global marketplace (global expansion)
  
• To facilitate tie-ups between Indian environment companies and foreign environment companies for the domestic marketplace (domestic expansion)
  
• To enable Indian industry across different sectors to source environment technology, products and services from abroad

FICCI's Environmental Delegations have visited

• Spain in 2004 for PROMA
  
• Germany in 2006 for CARBON EXPO

FICCI is now organising a delegation to one of the biggest and oldest international environment platforms - the POLLUTEC 2006, in Lyon, France

Pollutec is a global international exhibition of environmental equipment, technologies and services, that brings together around 2400 exhibitors covering a range of sectors, equipment, technologies and services, and 65000 visitors for 4 days of outstanding business opportunities. Pollutec 2006 is the 22nd edition of this prominent global environment meet held in France every year.

Environment sectors covered

Water treatment, waste recycling and management, air pollution control, environmental monitoring, clean energy, risk assessment, soil remediation, noise pollution abatement, sustainable development, town planning, health and environment, environmental engineering etc.

The fair would be complemented by parallel conference sessions on environmental themes.

Who can join the delegation

• Environmental goods, technology or service providers who wish to expand their business in the international market as well as in the domestic market through joint ventures/ partnerships
  
• Industry representatives seeking environmental solutions for their companies
  
• Urban local bodies seeking solutions for urban waste management and other environmental problems
