Corporate Contribution to Sustainable Development - Call for entries

FICCI is bringing out a publication entitled "Green Companies of India: Corporate Contribution to Sustainable Development" - a compilation of case studies of commendable environmental initiatives taken by the Indian industry. FICCI has initiated this publication with a view to highlight responsible environmental practices by Indian companies across sectors.

The companies highlighted in this publication would not only benefit other companies by motivating them to improve their environmental performance, but also in turn, project themselves as the leading environmentally conscious representatives of Indian business.

The document would be edited by eminent environment expert, Prof Dilip Biswas, Former Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board.

If your company has taken any appreciable steps for environmental pollution abatement or control, you too can be a part of this green initiative and submit the following information:

• A brief overview of your company (half a page)
  
• A write-up on the major environmental initiatives taken by your company (2-3 pages) that may include:
  
  • Steps taken for statutory compliance of environmental regulations
    
  • Voluntary initiatives (eg ISO 14000 and other initiatives)
    
  • Steps taken for adoption of clean technologies
    
  • Steps taken for conservation of natural resources (water, energy, forests etc)
    
  • Any other relevant activities (socio-economic development activities etc)
    
• Please indicate the cost and benefits of the initiatives taken, wherever possible.
  
• Relevant photographs demonstrating the initiatives taken (in eps format)
  
• A coloured passport sized photograph of the CEO/top management representative of the company (in eps format)
  
• A quote from the CEO/top management representative indicating how the environment friendly initiatives have benefited the company.

Please note that the case studies received will be subject to a selection procedure for its inclusion in the publication.
