Seminar on "Current and Prospective Opportunities for U.S.-India High-Technology Trade"

Under the auspices of the U.S.-India High Technology Cooperation Group, FICCI, in association with the Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Department of Commerce organised one-day seminars on "Current and Prospective Opportunities for U.S.-India High-Technology Trade" on September 20, 2006 in Hyderabad and on September 22, 2006 in New Delhi. The seminars provided a detailed briefing on recent changes in U.S. export control and defense licensing policies and identified new opportunities that exist in high-technology and defense trade.

The seminar in Hyderabad was addressed by Mr Viraj Singh, Deputy Secretary-Americas, Ministry of External Affairs and Mr Srini Raju, Member, Steering Committee of FICCI. The seminar in New Delhi was addressed by Mr Santosh Jha, Director, Ministry of External Affairs; Mr Dale Tasharski, Deputy Commercial Counselor, Embassy of the United States of America and Mr Hemant Sonawala, Chairman, Hinditron Group of Companies. The seminars were attended by government agencies and public and private sector representatives who deal with U.S. and Indian Export Control laws and regulations.
