MOZAMBIQUE

Mozambique is essentially agriculture based economy, which contributes more than 30% of the GDP. More than 75% population is employed in the agriculture sector. The main crops are maize, rice, beans, vegetables, cassava, cotton, tobacco and sugarcane. Its main exports are prawns and shrimps, cashew nuts, cotton, copra and sugar. However, severe floods in recent years and severe droughts in some parts of the country have adversely affected this sector.
