SLOVENIA

According to macroeconomic indicators, Slovenia is today ranked among the most successful countries in transition. Today, by Global Standards, Slovene economy is one of the most export-oriented economies in the world.

Slovenia has an excellent geostrategic position with access to the Adriatic Sea, which has helped a lot in developing service sector, especially in transport and tourism. The Slovenian port of Koper the only one the country has - has an advantageous location in the Northern Adriatic. It can be used as a springboard to the EU as well as to the Balkans.

When it comes to Slovenia-India business cooperation, owing to the low base, there is immense potential. Key sectors for bilateral trade between India-Slovenia:

  1. Slovenian metal processing industry
  2. Pharmaceutical industry
  3. Bio technology
  4. Food processing
  5. Textiles
  6. Production of tools and machines
