On the occasion of the visit of the German
Environment Minister Mr Sigmar Gabriel and the accompanying
German business delegation to India, The Ministry of Environment
and Forests has joined hands with Federal Ministry for the
Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU),
Asian-Pacific Committee of German Business, Federal Foreign
Office (AA), Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology
(BMWi), Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development
(BMZ), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)
and the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and
Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)
to organize a two day Indo-German Environment Forum on November
18-19, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.
The Forum aims at facilitating and strengthening
partnerships in environment and climate change between Indian
and German businesses in specific areas such as water and
waste management, climate change and CDM, renewable energy,
and energy efficiency.
The Inaugural Session of the Conference would
be addressed by Mr Sigmar Gabriel, Minister, Federal Ministry
for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety,
Germany and Mr Namo Narayan Meena, Indian Minister of State
for Environment and Forests, Government of India and several
other dignitaries.
