The
maiden India Carbon Market Conclave was organised
by FICCI in partnership with the Ministry of Environment
and Forests, Government of India, The World Bank
and International Emissions Trading Association
in November 2007 in New Delhi. Special features
such as the Project Showcase, Buyers' Showcase,
structured B2B Meet and Exhibition proved to be
effective platforms for building partnerships
and business linkages among carbon market stakeholders.
The Conclave also facilitated the entry of new
and prospective CDM project proponents through
the pre-conference workshops.
The
Conclave attracted over 540 participants, representing
35 sectors and 52 different stakeholder categories.
There were more than 250 project developers and
40 global carbon market players from 18 countries.
The
second India Carbon Market Conclave 2008 - the
largest platform to engage with the Indian carbon
market - will be held on October 14-16, 2008 in
New Delhi. The carbon market in India has achieved
significant momentum. The Conclave provides an
effective and all-inclusive platform for global
carbon market stakeholders to engage with a large
number of Indian project developers, and for Indian
carbon market players to interface with the global
mainstream. The Conclave is being organised by
FICCI in partnership with Ministry of Environment
and Forests, Government of India, The World Bank
and International Emissions Trading Association.
ICMC 2007 was
an excellent and unique opportunity to get
a true feeling of how strongly CDM is applied
and supported in India. The conclave covered
all important topics, interesting all actors
in the Carbon Market: project developers,
buyers, brokers, consultants, validators,
lawyers...

Carbon Market Conclave is the event of carbon
sector in India. ICMC2007had the biggest gathering
of all stakeholders, all perspectives and
aspects of this sector were presented. Possibly,
one of the most fruitful buyer seller meets
that I have seen in any conference globally.
