housing is a major indicator of growth path of the nation and the quality of life
it bestows on its citizens. The tremendous potential that this industry holds
has been appreciated and acknowledged by the government, policy makers and professionals
in the industry alike.
Recognising the importance of this industry;
FICCI has constituted a Housing and Public Works Committee, Chaired by Mr Sushil
Ansal, Chairman,
Ansal Properties & Industries Ltd. The objective of the
committee is to deal with issues concerning the housing and real estate sector
through workshops, conferences, seminars and representation to the concerned authorities
in government. The Committee has as its members property consultants, architects,
planners, prominent builders, legal experts.
The Housing & Public Works Committee of FICCI addresses issues
concerning the housing and real estate sector. The objective of the committee
is to:

to the government real estate reforms essential to give impetus to the sector. |
 | Look
at Central and State level policy issues with respect to Property tax, Stamp duty,
ULCRA, Rent Control Act and give recommendations to the government on reforms
to be initiated. |
 | Study
the progress made by India in attracting FDI in integrated township development
and ascertain the loopholes existing in the present foreign investment policy.

international best practices with respect to: |

options of finance and innovative means of real estate financing.

models of housing finance.
And determine their applicability to India. |
