Public Consultation on EU's Generalized System of Preferences (GSP)
The current regulation setting the norms and procedures for EU's Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) expires on 31 December 2011. The European Commission has launched an "Online Public Consultation" to seek comments from interested parties as inputs to the European Commission's work to prerpare a future proposal to the Council and Parliament on a successor Regulation. The consultation is accessible at the following address :
The consultation exercise is open until 31 May 2010. A report will be prepared on the results of the consultation which will be published on the website of the European Commission's Directorate General for Trade. It will feed into the preparation of the future proposal on a successor Regulation to the current GSP.
