FICCI - WRC

 

FICCI-Western Regional Council is the western regional arm of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, which has 14 domestic and 7 overseas offices. In addition to supporting FICCI, New Delhi, FICCI-WRC organizes its own conferences, seminars, workshops and networks with visiting delegations from several developed and developing counties.

FICCI-WRC actively provides sectoral services in agriculture, capital markets, finance, banking, energy, chemicals, plastic, infrastructure, entertainment and textiles.

In the Agriculture Sector, FICCI-WRC has organized conferences ranging from Banana, Mango, Grapes to Wine and Oranges in Mumbai and important towns of Maharashtra from time to time. These conferences have greatly benefited the farming sector and helped exploit the potential in the agriculture, agro-processing and horticulture sector.

In the capital markets, finance and banking sector, FICCI with the support of FICCI-WRC has organized Annual 2-day Conference on Banking & Finance and Capital Markets (CAPAM) bringing together all the stake holders in the finance and capital markets on a single platform for drawing roadmaps in these sectors. These conferences have been widely acclaimed for their high quality deliberations..

In the Energy Sector, FICCI - WRC through its Energy Committee holds conference called Energy Technologies Forum annually. This conference brings together some of the best global minds to share their knowledge on future technologies in this vital sector. This Forum covers the areas of Oil & Gas, Power and Energy from Non-Conventional sources. The regional council organizes seminars on Renewable Energy, Biofuel, Carbon Credits to familiarize industry with these emerging sectors.

The bi-annual Exhibition-cum-Conference called IndiaChem is a showcase event held in Mumbai for the Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Technologies, Process Plant Machinery Control & Automation System. FICCI-WRC also holds Chemical Process Industry Forums through its Chemical Committee, which provides a suitable platform for all the players and policy makers to interact and ensure healthy growth of the Chemical sector.

FICCI jointly with Plast India would provide support the plastic industry. It would also hold a big annual conference on plastics later this year.

In the Textile Sector, a conference covering Textiles, Apparels and Garments (TAG Conference) is held annually by FICCI-WRC. This conference has witnessed global participation. National level conferences on textiles are also held in the region to focus on all issues, challenges and opportunities in the textile sector.

FICCI-FRAMES is FICCI's flagship event, which was instrumental in giving industry status to the Entertainment Industry. It is gaining worldwide acclaim and participation each year for the last 7 years.

Conferences to promote marine, airport, power and general infrastructure held annually. FICCI-WRC is constantly working with the Airport Authority of India, maritime authorities to upgrade facilities at the seaports and airports. It also works to improve existing infrastructure in all other areas like road and rail transport, communication, electricity etc., through constant dialogue with the government and the authorities concerned.

As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, FICCI-WRC plays an active role in the following areas of activities

  • Creating an awareness on Cyber Crime in association with Mumbai Police
  • Promoting Rain Water Harvesting through various programmes
  • Conducting conferences to promote Corporate Governance

FICCI-WRC's special initiatives

  1. Trade Facilitation Forum

    This forum has been set up to facilitate and provide a hassle free environment for carrying out international trade by Indian entrepreneurs and businessmen.

  2. Medical Tourism Council of Maharashtra

    This initiative has been undertaken by FICCI-WRC, as a part of health care, in partnership with the State Government, the Tourism industry, private as well l as public hospitals with a view to develop, promote and facilitate Medical Tourism in Mumbai and Maharashtra.

  3. Brand Protection Committee

    The Brand Protection Committee works to fight spurious products viz. counterfeit and pass-off in select categories of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Textile, Automobiles & Lubricants. BPC's mission is to work co-operatively with the Central and State Government authorities, Industry and Trade Associations, individual Companies and other organizations including Consumer Protection Groups
