The Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry vide letter No. 14(1)/2005-RMTR dated 16-5-2005 has informed that European Commission has introduced new technical requirements for GSP (Form A) Certificate of Origin under EU-GSP Scheme. As per these requirements, the Export Inspection Council has got the new Forms printed.

In pursuance of the above directions, the Textiles Committee will be issuing the GSP (Form A) Certificate of Origin only in the new forms with effect from 1st August 2005. All exporters of textiles products w.e.f. 1st August 2005 must obtain GSP (Form A) Certificate of Origin only in new forms as certificates issued in old forms on or after 1st August, 2005 will not be acceptable by the EC Customs.
