FICCI Environment Conclave
is stepping into its fifth year. The Conclave has been a platform
for facilitating policy dialogue, business linkages, technology
tie-ups and public private partnerships in sustainable waste
management. For the past four years, the Conclave has brought
together stakeholders engaged across the waste management
spectrum under one platform. The Conclave has laid progressively
more thrust on public private partnerships, the key to success
of waste management initiatives at the municipal as well as
industrial level.
The Conclave is a complete
forum for waste management business across sectors and has
emerged as an effective platform for Indian and global waste
management stakeholders to create business linkages, gain
knowledge and establish their presence in the evolving waste
management market.
The conference this year will
focus on the theme "Advancing public private partnerships
for sustainable waste management" by showcasing PPP models
that are in operation, scope for PPP in different states and
municipalities and the impetus needed to put PPP models in
place. State governments are also increasingly focusing on
an integrated approach to waste management and developing
models that incorporate private sector participation at different
levels of the waste management chain - collection, transportation,
recycling, treatment and disposal. Initiatives of different
state governments have been showcased at the Conclave in the
past. This year also the Conclave will present waste management
initiatives of state governments that have taken the lead
to address waste management through a public private partnership
model.
