In today's global competitive
economy, all industrial sectors are emphasizing effective utilization of resources.
Maintenance management has seen radical changes since last three decades all across
the globe. The main aim of achieving higher reliability, availability and overall
productivity of any organization is to successfully manage their assets at optimum
cost. Reliability, Availability & Maintainability have become key parameters
for a plant engineer to ensure production at optimum cost. As all organizations
are placed at a cut- throat situation in delivering quality products continually
in minimum time, the Machinery Health Management assumes important role in plant
management philosophy. Some established studies has revealed that the global maintenance
cost is about 9% of GDP (about US $ 2700 billion) which is definitely at higher
side. This figure may be even higher in Indian Industries. In view of this assessment,
effective machinery health management should be a focused area which would reduce
the machine breakdown drastically. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce
and Industry, (FICCI) had addressed this issue through a national seminar on
"MACHINERY HEALTH MANAGEMENT", during May 2007 at New Delhi which
was a grand success. Against the above back drop and overwhelming response from
various sectors, FICCI is once again committed to address the issue in organizing
the second edition of "MACHINERY HEALTH MANAGEMENT" during May
8-9, 2008 at Federation House, New Delhi. The target group may comprise
of senior and middle level executives /practicing engineers from production department
, Engineering, Operation and maintenance , technical services , projects and quality
departments from the sectors like Oil refineries, fertilizers, cement, petrochemicals,
energy, pipelines transportation, distribution companies, transmission companies,
Thermal power stations etc. The detail of the program is attached herewith. May
we, therefore, request you to forward nominations from your organization and reap
the multiple benefits.
