Goa FICCI is organizing a Four Day Residential Workshop
on 'Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) - Design, Implementation & Monitoring' from
July, 15-18, 2008 at Holiday Inn Resort, Mobor Beach, Goa. RWH
is a technique of collection and storage of rainwater for direct consumption or
artificial recharging of groundwater. Many industries and organizations have implemented
RWH to achieve Zero Water Balance and as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility
initiative. Some of the other benefits of RWH are - Increased water availability;
safeguard declining water table; environment friendly method; improved public
image; improves the groundwater quality through dilution of fluoride, nitrate,
and salinity; prevents soil erosion and flooding. The workshop
is designed to provide the participant with hands-on training on design, implementation
& monitoring of RWH according to terrain characteristics, rainfall pattern,
water table, soil conditions, water demand etc. in Urban Areas like Industrial
Units, Residential Colonies, Commercial Buildings, Hotels, Hospitals, Schools,
Parks and large Catchment areas. The course would involve interactive sessions,
lectures by experts, case studies, field visits and group exercises. The focus
groups are representative/s from Industries, Hotels, Hospitals, Government Organizations,
Institutions, Consultancy Organizations, Academics, Local Water Management Bodies,
NGOs, Civil Society and Individuals interested in Water Conservation & Management.

The methodology would lay emphasis on learning through
interactive sessions, presentations & lectures by experts, brainstorming sessions,
case studies, field visits and group exercises. The faculty would include professionals
from FICCI and invited speakers from organization of eminence. Date,

12.00 Noon) Time : Programme starts at 5:30 pm on 15th July and
concludes by 11:30 am on 18th July 2008 Venue : Holiday Inn Resort,
Mobor Beach, Goa Kindly note that FICCI would provide accomodation only
for the above period and participants requiring additional stay will be required
to arrange the accomodation on their own.
Nomination Fees*
To
meet the expenditure, a registration fees of Rs 22,500/- per residential participant
is charged which shall be payable by Cheque/DD drawn in favour of Federation of
Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi. Nomination
fees includes the following facilities:

material and training kit
- RWH field visit
- Accommodation
for three nights (15th, 16th & 17th July 2008)
- Airport/Railway
Station (Madgaon) pickup and drop
- Welcome drink on arrival
- Buffet
breakfast, lunch and dinner

- One half day sightseeing with boat cruise (subject to
the weather conditions)

that, participants are required to pay the following expenses directly to the
hotel while checking out (if applicable): - Accompanying spouse

- Expenditure/s other than mentioned in
the nomination fees facilities e.g. laundry, telephone calls, doctor services
etc.
Important Instructions about the Workshop - Nomination
will be registered only after the receipt of the fees
- Change in
nomination is acceptable
- No refunds for cancellation of nomination

In the event of cancellation of the programme, FICCI will refund the nomination
fees
- Limited number of seats available for the workshop and will be
available on first come first serve basis. The last date for sending nominations
is June 30, 2008.
- Once registered, participants are required to send
in their travel itinerary latest by July 10, 2008 to enable us to arrange for
complimentary pick & drop from Goa airport/railway station (madgaon); otherwise
the participants have to make their own arrangements for the same.
