International Conference on Indian Dyestuffs Industry
September 21st & 22nd, 2006 in Mumbai

International Conference on Indian Dyestuffs Industry was organised by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) jointly with Dept of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt of India and with the support of Dyestuffs Manufacturers' Association of India (DMAI) on September 21-22, 2006 at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Mumbai.

The theme of the Conference on Dyestuffs was "Strategies for Globalisation and Increasing Competitiveness of the Indian Dyestuffs Industry".

Mrs. Satwant Reddy, Secretary, Dept. of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, GoI inaugurated the conference, and delivered the Keynote address. Mr Nanik Rupani, Co-Chairman, FICCI-WR.

Mr. Vivek Bharati, Advisor, FICCI, delivered the concluding remarks.

The conference had 33 speakers around 225 delegates who participated at the conference. The conference was spread over 2 days and had 7 sessions on different issues ranging viz.
"The Global Scenario: Growth & Opportunities for Dye Industry", "Emerging Global Regulatory Environment Impacting Dye Industry Producers", "New Frontiers: Emerging Applications in the Dye Industry", " New Applications of Dyes in the Textile Industry", "Emerging Technologies: New Frontiers in the Colourant Industry", "Leveraging India's Competitive Advantage", etc.

The gathering consisted of top officials from the dyestuffs industries, research analysts, marketing professionals and consultants and academicians.

The conference provided a unique opportunity to highlight the business opportunities in the Dyestuffs Industry and also assessed the investment potential in this sector. There were also discussions on the marketing techniques and strategies that need to be undertaken to enhance competitiveness. The conference also highlighted the issues and problems being faced by the Indian Dyestuffs Industry and provided a platform for the interaction of the industry and the policy makers, in an effort to enhance growth of Dyestuffs Industry.
